![]() ![]() ![]() We've continually asked for development help, but haven't onboarded a core developer in years and years. The mechanics of touching 150+ formats any time we needed to change core features was (is) too much. We've now outlived many GPS makers (pour one out for Magellan, Delorme, Navitrak, Holux, etc.) and many platforms (PalmOS, Windows Mobile, Inferno, etc.) and just can't keep them all alive forever. We also thought that map and gps providers would all provide workign GPX support and we could go home. There was a time we thought we could add every format for every platform for every obscure GPS and mapping program. ![]() As we discussed while announcing the turndown of formats on this very list (where, ahem, not a single person defended MMO) the matrix of little used features and the need to keep the code viable, buildable with current tools on current operating systems just became back-breaking and was endangering our ability to keep the project viable at all. > It's also a reality that while we have added hundreds of new users every day for most of the last 20 years, almost all of the maintenance and development is still done by two people. > It’s unfortunate that updates to tools and libraries requires that much work.
